The “Starabella” audio/Picture books have won the following awards:
The “Starabella” series is a USA Book News Best Books Award Finalist in 3 categories. The Starabella 3-Book Series won for Children’s Audio/Picture Book Series. Book One, “Starabella: Mystery Girl of Music,” Book Two, “Starabella: New Adventures and Mixed Emotions,” and Book Three, “Starabella: Welcome to a Bright New World” won for Children’s Picture Book Hardcover Fiction w/Audio CD. Book Three, “Starabella: Welcome to a Bright New World” won for Children’s Novelty & Gift Book.
Book Three, “Starabella: Welcome to a Bright New World” is also a Nautilus Award Winner. “The Nautilus Book Awards recognize and reward a group of world-changing, award winning books and celebrate how they contribute to positive social change.” The judges are experienced, professional people, who are currently or have formerly been editors, college professors, librarians, schoolteachers, writers, booksellers, and publishers. Sharon Fialco signed books at the at the Nautilus booth at the BEA (Book Expo America) May 24th.
“Starabella: Mystery Girl of Music”, in addition, won a Benjamin Franklin Finalist Award for Cover Design—Children’s/Young Adult category. The Benjamin Franklin Awards are sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association, and celebrate excellence in editorial and design for titles published in the year 2010. Judges for the Benjamin Franklin awards come from all areas of the industry: major newspapers and trade media reviewers, bookstore and library buyers and reviewers, non-competing publishers, artists and writers who serve the industry.
